01 Dec Style Tips For the Most Joyous Time of the Year
by Kristina Young, Dazzle Interiors
Helping our South Florida clients decorate their home for the holidays is my favorite time of the year. The centerpiece of Christmas season décor is undoubtedly the Christmas tree. Everyone does décor differently and we love to embrace those differences in our design approach. Colorful, old-world, or rustic, we make your vision come to life. Need some inspiration? Here are a few of our favorite Christmas tree designs.
Timeless White
White is simple and while it’s not too bold, it certainly makes a statement. For all-white trees, I prefer a pre-flocked, pre-lit tree as a canvas from which to build a work of art. Warm lights and a mix of texture create a visual interest that creates depth in monochromatic schemes. Mixing matte and shiny ornaments of different shapes and sizes and the addition of feathers, lace, or ribbon complete the aesthetic.
A Bold Move
Deep hues and contrast create a bespoke and beautiful result, but with a touch of pizzaz. This is an ideal style for clients who want to break from tradition without going over the top. Black ornaments and sparkling gold ornaments add a pop of contrast with gold leaves and other textural elements make for a unique tree with plenty of style. Royal blue is another excellent choice to make a bold, yet classic statement, especially when paired with an evergreen tree. Adding a velvet royal blue tree skirt will make for both elegant design and great conversation at your holiday party.
Rosé & Rouge
Pink is a tropical and subtle choice that is reminiscent of the Florida art deco design age with a modern twist. It accents without overwhelming on a flocked tree with taupe, natural wood, silver, and gold ornaments. Pink is a modern choice for an icy chic tree with warmth. For a classic look, we can’t forget to mention the traditional red Christmas tree. Bold matte and shiny red ornaments mixed with gold and white reflect the tree lights in a way that creates a warm glow, perfect for cozy winter nights.
